I want to Dance with somebody…with somebody who loves me!
Love is in the air today and couples appear to be popping up everywhere. No matter how cynical you are about Valentine’s Day, this year it seems to be impossible to avoid the hearts, roses and sweet-nothings that are being whispered on every corner. So you might as well join in - you never know you may get a good box of chocolates out of it! From breakfast in bed, to romantic walks and candle-lit dinners, today is the one day of the year when we can indulge in fairy-tales. Like any good fairy-tale however, true love can only be found at a dance and this year Cinderella will go to the Ball!
Throughout the country tonight, couples will be sweeping across the dance floor in a whirl of waltzes and a tumble of tangos that Cupid can’t fail to appear at. All those husbands and boyfriends who have forgotten that today is February 14th however, it isn’t too late. For every girl loves a man who can dance and what could be more romantic than a rumba under the stars. Plus this is the perfect solution to the Valentine gift minefield, as unlike chocolates Ballroom dancing certainly isn’t bad for you. Prince Charming couldn’t do better!
The Valentine’s Ball is a failsafe plan, which even three left feet can’t foil. As well as dancing the night away many of the Balls up and down the country feature a day of workshops to help you find your twinkle toes. This year the Brighton Dome are once again hosting their annual Valentine’s Ball at the Corn Exchange with live music from the Berkeley Square Society Band while on February 16th the University of Birmingham are hosting the Valentine’s Masquerade Salsa Ball in the Aston Webb buildings Great Hall. The Chapter 28 Valentine’s Ball is also being held at St Albans Town Hall with live music from the Indigo Strings Quartet and there is a Valentine’s Masquerade Ball at St Katherine’s Dock, London; to name just a few.
So get ready to waltz into your happily ever after. Happy Valentine’s Day love from Dancewear Central
