The White House Gets in on the Dancing!

There's no denying that we're all going dance crazy. From ballroom to breakdance, Jazz to Tap, Ballet to Belly and everything in between, we simply love to dance or to watch others dancing.

And it seems that even President Obama and his wife, Michelle enjoy indulging in the art form too. In fact, this is so much the case that Michelle Obama has just announced plans for the "White House Dance Series: A Tribute to Judith Jameson," which will celebrate dance in all its beauty.

The event will honour Jameson, a former dancer and artistic director and will feature an impressive line up of dance acts. Someof the major and celebrated New York Dance teams such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the New York City Ballet and the cast of Broadway's version of 'Billy Elliot the Musical.' They will line up alongside West Coast Hip Hop Dance Group, 'Cr3w,' and Washington DC's, 'Washington Ballet.'

It is widely thought that this will be the first in a number of events - largely rumoured as this is referred to as a "series." Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get Downing Street on board for a UK equivalent?

It's an amazing opportunity for dance groups to get some much needed and much welcomed RECOGNITION!
