Barbara Windsor Set for Strictly?
The current series of ‘Strictly’ is in the swing of things but it seems we still can’t stop speculating about the stars that might be on next year’s show – however distance that might seem! Unreality TV reported yesterday that national treasure, Barbara Windsor is keen to take part too! It could be all the more likely now that she has hung up her Peggy Mitchell costumes and waved goodbye to Eastenders. With more time on her hands, could everybody’s favourite actress be up for the next series then?
Well, Barbara Windsor has openly stated before that she would definitely be interested, having previously commented;
“I’ve been offered ‘Strictly…’ a few times. I thought about it for the first series but I had broken my ankle and my physio told me not to do it.”
However, we’re sorry to disappoint you but she wno’t be appearing in a series. It seems the 73 year old actress feels “too old” for a full series but may grace our screens for a one off special, adding;
“Now I’m too old. It’s very physical and because I’m a perfectionist I would wear myself out. Maybe we should do an old folks one, with people like me, ‘EastEnders’ stars June Brown (Dot Cotton) and Pam St Clement (Pat Butcher) and some of the ‘Coronation Street’ girls in their 60s and 70s. I would definitely be up for that.”
