Another Dance Show?
Paula Abdul is famous for having once been a judge on hit show, American Idol. However, she is now turning her hand to a different type of talent show as she launches “Live to Dance,” on American channel, CBS in early January 2011.
The show attracted thousands of dancers, both groups and individuals and of varying degrees of talent (as you might expect).The acts were all of all ages, from all over the USA and were competing for the massive $500,000 prize! That’s certainly worth dancing for, right? The early previews show us that there will be a pre-recorded audition segment at the start of the series (in much the same way most reality TV talent shows work) and that there will then be live shows later on.
Around the world, we have an insatiable appetite for dance on TV at the moment, from Strictly, to Britain’s Got Talent, Dancing on Ice and now this talent show stateside dedicated to all genres of dance.
For British viewers, of course, we’re unlikely to see it on TV here. However, at Dancewear Central we’ll be keeping up with the show on the CBS website and Youtube and will be sure to keep you in the loop too!
