5 Great Dance Blogs

The blogosphere is immense. Think of any topic in the world and there’s a good chance that there’s a blog already on it. But what a superb platform for finding and sharing information. No longer are we restricted to the traditional media outlets, but suddenly we can hear anyone’s opinions on almost anything. This applies to the world of dance as well. There are countless blogs out there by dancers or about dance that offer an insight that the traditional media outlets might not be able to. Here are five we think are certainly worth a read:-

1. 4 Dancers

This is a blog by Catherine L Tully who has been involved in dance for more than thirty years. She is currently the Outside Europe representative for the UK National Dance Teachers Association. The blog hosts features and interviews with figures from the dance world.

2. Dance Advantage

This is a really comprehensive source of information for keen dancers, their parents and even teachers. A super host of resources plus the opportunity for other keen dance bloggers to submit their posts for consideration too. This is an interactive community blog.

3. The Faster Times Dance Section

Particularly good for keeping up with what's on in the world of dance, from performance reviews to news. The Faster Times has a dance section contributed to by some great writers and is certainly worth a read.

4. Reflections on Dance

This is a great blog by choreographer, Aynsley Vandenbroucke. From thoughts and musings on dance to reviews and overviews of various performances, it is clear the writing here comes from someone incredibly passionate about the art of dance.

5. Let's Go Dancing

A UK based blog, this one isn't as frequently updated as some of the others, but nonetheless features a host of interesting and entertaining posts. Always relevant and relating to something happening in the here and now, this blog also makes use of embedded Youtube for a multimedia user experience.
